ALL IN

Are you ready to be All In at PCL?

All In at PCL means we are committed to each other regardless of how we feel. We act on the knowledge that in Christ we are all ONE -- ONE in body, ONE in Spirit and ONE in mission, working towards a life of unity and maturity.

We pray. We encourage. We restore. We learn. We grow. We give. We show up.

This is what it means to be All In at Pursuit Church Live.

If you still have questions, read on. There is no formal membership class or covenant, you need to sign. The word, ‘membership’, infers an exchange of services but being a ‘member’ of the body of Christ goes much deeper than that.

When you decide to follow Christ, accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, you are born again and become a member of God’s family, also called "The Church", "God’s People", and the "Body of Christ".

The Church is not brought together by a good communicator, a great kids program, or the donuts and coffee served on Sunday morning. They are not brought together by a common neighborhood, culture, race, class, or language. What is radical and revolutionary is that the Church is brought and bound together by Christ and His mission.

In God’s purpose there is only one Church, one family of all, under the headship of Christ. On earth, the church is revealed in many forms, seen wherever two or three gather in his name.

Over and over again, Paul and the other New Testament writers tell us about these small gatherings of Christians. The Greek word for gathering is Ecclesia. Pursuit Church Live is one of these gatherings within the Church.

If you are asking the question, how do I become a member of PCL? Read on.

The Apostle Paul uses the metaphor of the human body to describe the nature and function of the body of Christ.

Romans 10:5 says, “So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

Here is how Paul explains the interdependence of God’s people.

1 Corinthians 12 (NIV)

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it,25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

As Paul wrote: “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it” (1 Corinthians 12:26).

Think about your own body. If you break your arm, or worse, amputate it, the only thing you can feel or focus on is the loss of your arm. It is the same with the body of Christ.

When one falls, we pick him up. If part of the body becomes detached, everyone grieves. If one part receives a miracle, we all receive the miracle.

In this sense, to be All In at PCL means we are committed to each other, regardless of how we feel. We act on the knowledge of our common link being, one in Christ, one in Spirit, and one in mission working towards a life of unity and maturity.

We pray. We encourage. We restore. We learn. We grow. We give. We show up.
